Vertas Group directors are stepping up their game with six new fitness challenges and encouraging colleagues to participate.
To further Vertas Group’s commitment to social responsibility, the company are delighted to announce the return of the Exec Experiences initiative.
What’s the aim?
This coming year, each director will lead a team of colleagues as they hope to raise the bar and some serious funds for the group’s chosen charity, Cancer Research UK.
This year’s unique challenges include a Coast-to-Coast E-Bike ride from Cumbria to Newcastle, an abseil in Millers Dale, Derbyshire, an Orwell walk, the challenging Great Birmingham Run, a muddy Whole Hog race, and a two-day long-distance Suffolk Coastal walk.
Last year, the Exec Experiences initiative saw Vertas Group directors and colleagues take part in a Ryder Cup golf tournament, a half marathon, a cycling challenge through the Derbyshire hills, a climb up Mount Snowdon and climbing a Scottish Graham, Ben Venue.

With a set number of entries per initiative, colleagues have been signing up using the company’s internal communications platform, Workvivo. In return for the funded experience, each employee will have a fundraising goal of £100-£300, depending on the challenge.
As Vertas Group’s teams go the extra mile, literally and figuratively, participation in the activities will unite colleagues from across the Group, building new relationships and strengthening the Group culture. Furthermore, the Exec Experiences hopes to boost collaborative connections outside of the normal day job.
Whether colleagues are pedalling for purpose or jogging for generosity, each individual’s effort will play a vital role in the Group’s collective effort to make a positive impact. This initiative alone raised an incredible £23,000.00 in 2024, bringing the total raised by the Group to a staggering £77,279.31.
Vertas Group hope to not only meet but succeed in these efforts in 2025 by surpassing the £100,000.00 target, continuing to positively impact the lives of those in need.
A representative at CRUK said: “Cancer Research UK are so incredibly grateful for Vertas Group’s continued partnership with us. We cannot thank the group enough for their endless determination and loyalty towards our cause. Their support is vital for us to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Shockingly, every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer. But thanks to supporters like Vertas Group, we are beating cancer together.”
