Vertas and University of Suffolk Strengthen Partnership With New Grounds Maintenance Contract

Vertas has renewed its grounds maintenance partnership with the University of Suffolk. This marks a new chapter in our partnership, rooted in sustainability, wellbeing, and community impact.

Since working together in 2023, our relationship has evolved from a service agreement into a collaborative effort built on shared values and long-term vision.

As we embark on this new partnership, our Grounds team will work closely with the university to develop and enhance the grounds over the initial three-year contract.

This work will focus on creating outdoor spaces that grow with the community and reflect a shared commitment to sustainability and biodiversity. Our expert team will deliver grounds maintenance services across the entire campus. From caring for the wildflower meadow to landscaping courtyards. These spaces are designed to support the wellbeing of students and staff, while encouraging connection with nature.

The University of Suffolk has made significant strides in sustainability. Vertas is proud to support these efforts by delivering sustainable solutions that align with the university’s climate Action Plan and Net Zero goals.

We’re working with the university on their habitats and plan to support features, including pollinator-friendly planting, habitat zones, and sustainable landscaping practices. Implementing these improvements will further contribute to our own Net Zero journey.

This partnership also delivers real social value. To promote wellbeing, we’ll be planting bulbs across the campus, funded by the university, with labour provided by Vertas. It’s a small gesture, with a big impact, creating calming spaces for students to enjoy throughout the year.
