Today we’ve been announced as a supporting partner for the Women’s Tour stage in Suffolk for 2020, joining the Palmer Group who signed a two-year partnership in 2019.

The race will be returning to Suffolk in 2020, bringing the UCI Women’s World Tour event to the county for the sixth time in its seven-year history. Details of this year’s stage are still to be announced but building on the excitement and drama of the Grand Depart in 2019 it promises to be a spectacular event for the county.

Ian Surtees, Chief Executive Officer of Vertas Group says: “The high-profile Women’s Tour is a natural fit for Vertas to get behind. The race will roll past many of our clients’ sites, allowing us the opportunity to engage with and inspire many of the thousands of school children we cater for each day, with themed menus and cycling promotions. With a talented grounds design and landscaping team in-house, we’re also hoping to unveil some superb ‘land art’ along the route!”.

Cllr James Reeder, Suffolk County Council Cabinet Member for Public Health and Prevention, said: “We are delighted to announce Vertas Group as an official supporting partner for the Suffolk stage of the 2020 race. Working in partnership with local businesses is vital if we are to continue to attract these events to Suffolk, whilst maximising the impact that they have for our local economy.”

Cllr Letitia Smith, East Suffolk Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Leisure and Tourism said: “We are delighted that Vertas will be a supporting partner for the Suffolk stage of this year’s Women’s Tour. This is the sixth time this fantastic event has been to Suffolk, showcasing all that the area has to offer and encouraging communities to get active.”

“The Women’s Tour provides a unique opportunity for the business sector to benefit from an association with what is regarded as the World’s biggest professional women’s cycle race and the extensive media profile and exposure it delivers.”

Women’s Tour Race Director Mick Bennett said, “On behalf of The Women’s Tour organisers SweetSpot I would like to welcome Vertas Group to the race and thank them for their support of women’s cycling. It is great to see businesses like Vertas Group and Palmer Group partnering with Suffolk County Council and East Suffolk Council to help bring The Women’s Tour back to Suffolk.”

In its five previous visits to Suffolk, the Women’s Tour is estimated to have attracted 300,000 spectators to the roadside and created a net economic impact for the county of in excess of £4.6 million.

A limited number of flexible business partnership opportunities are still available and can be tailored to meet specific business needs.
