Local building services provider, Vertas Group donates £4,893.38 to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice (EACH) in final closing out support for the charity.

Vertas has supported EACH since late 2013; helping raise money for the charity and promoting the fantastic work it does in supporting families, children and young people who are living with life-threatening conditions across the Eastern Region.

One of the more recent money-raising projects which Vertas led on; was the development, distribution and sale of ‘eats’ school dessert cookery books. The ‘eats’ primary school catering brand is full of fun and tasty recipes which we were keen to share with others. The recipes were brought together and placed in a handy ring bound booklet designed and created by the Vertas Design and Print service.

The cookbook was sold for £5 each with all proceeds going to EACH.

Marcus Yarham, Group Finance Director for Vertas Group Limited, said:

“We are over the moon with the money raised from the sale of our school desserts recipe book. With tasty recipes such as the ‘Lemon Drizzle’, ‘Cinnamon Swirl Cake’ and of course the all-time favourite; ‘Chocolate Crunch’, it was no wonder we sold each and every book!

“It is important to us to see these funds going to such an incredible charity; a charity which supports the entire family network when they are faced with the difficulties of a loved one enduring a life-threatening illness.

“Vertas is delighted to have supported EACH over the last couple of years and we wish the charity all the best with its future endeavours. We are glad to be able to give such a substantial parting gift before we begin the support for our next chosen charity.”

Patsy Johnson-Cisse, EACH Suffolk Fundraising Manager, said:

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to Vertas for their support and this tremendous amount raised. The cookbook has been a great success, with some lovely recipes – it was a real pleasure to be involved in.

“EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia, and supports their families at a time when they need it most.

“Without the support of local businesses like Vertas we would not be able to continue these vital services. We have all thoroughly enjoyed working with the Vertas team.”
