Vertas Group is thrilled to announce Charlie Close has been appointed as the new Learning & Development Business Partner.
Vertas Group is pleased to welcome Charlie as Learning and Development Business Partner to the team. Having worked in the education sector for the past 22 years, including 17 years at Kesgrave High School, Charlie brings vast experience in learning and development coupled with leadership and team management skills.
With a teaching background in Drama and Theatre, Charlie is not shy to bring forward ideas. Her ability to engage in meaningful conversations alongside a solution-focused mindset makes her a fantastic addition to support the Group in driving impactful change.
Charlie’s extensive experience includes mentoring and coaching initial teacher trainees and completing Senior Leadership training, with many crossovers in this training reflected in the values of Vertas Group.
In her new role, Charlie will lead and advise on the ‘Developing’ pillar of Vertas Group’s People Strategy, with the aim of nurturing talent through lifelong learning opportunities. Her work will ensure our colleagues have the right skills and capabilities for today, tomorrow and the future. Initially, Charlie will focus on managing and developing the Group’s apprenticeships. She is keen to encourage more of our colleagues to engage with the wide range of development opportunities available.
Additionally, Charlie will drive the delivery and development of training initiatives across the Group, helping individuals upskill, refresh, and evolve in their roles. With a passion for fostering a culture of continuous learning, Charlie is committed to promoting the idea of ‘learning for life’.
When asked about her new role, Charlie said: “Learning and Development should be a ‘walk in the park’, but, with a map and a compass that allows you to choose where you want to go, which path to take and how you can get there with support and guidance.”
We are pleased to welcome Charlie and look forward to her positive impact on our people and our strategy.
