Vertas Group Employee Engagement Survey Results Reveal High Colleague Satisfaction

Submitted by Connie Maddock | 15/10/2024

Vertas Group is thrilled to share positive results from its latest colleague engagement survey.

The Group is delighted to highlight its highest-ever colleague engagement score of 90%, showcasing a strong sense of colleague commitment from its workforce of over 3,000.

Despite its national reach, Vertas Group takes pride in being a local supplier, employing local colleagues to serve communities across a wide range of services.

As such, achieving a high colleague engagement score is a remarkable achievement, significantly surpassing the Engage For Success, UK Employee Engagement Survey 2023 Index Score of 62%.

From property design and construction to recruitment, catering, security and cleaning, colleagues feel valued and connected regardless of location.

The company are also pleased to boast a 55% response rate for the previous year. These results highlight the Group’s dedication to fostering a positive workplace where colleagues feel passionate about delivering exceptional service.

What does a high engagement score tell us?

The survey explores themes including job satisfaction, sense of purpose, and passion for the Group’s mission. To support the People Strategy, the questions aim to identify areas for improvement and emphasise the importance of colleagues in driving these changes.

The Group is proud of its 90% engagement score, which demonstrates a workforce that is not only satisfied but also invested in the company’s values. A greater level of engagement drives better performance, creating a culture where Vertas Group colleagues feel they are making a difference.

A 55% response rate also speaks volumes. Colleagues are not just passive participants but actively engaged in shaping the company’s future. This reflects a strong trust in leadership and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.

Why High Engagement Matters

For the Group, long-term success and business growth are priorities, and highly engaged colleagues are key to achieving these. They embody the ‘customer first culture’ that is at the core of the business.

Colleagues who feel valued and connected to their work are more motivated to deliver exceptional service, which leads to better customer experiences.

The Group is proud to offer a range of initiatives aimed at fostering colleague engagement, from a company-wide mentoring app to a new charity initiative, Exec Experiences, where colleagues can help raise funds for Cancer Research UK. These programs empower individuals to develop skills, share expertise, and drive meaningful change within the company.

What’s Next: Building a Brighter Future

Based on valuable feedback from the survey, the business is developing an action plan to enhance the work environment and support professional growth.

This September, Vertas Group launched ‘People-Fest,’ a month-long internal campaign to unveil its new People strategy. The strategy is a key document through which the company endeavours to attract and develop the talent in its workforce.

With positive survey results to inform its next steps, Vertas Group is committed to fostering an environment where all colleagues feel inspired, valued and motivated to make an impact.
