Vertas Group’s annual Charity Golf Day made a welcome return this year, as colleagues and supply chain partners came together for a day of friendly competition and fundraising.
The event took place on Wednesday, 11th June at Hintlesham Golf Club, where 14 teams took to the 18-hole course. The day, which has become a highlight in the Group’s calendar, proved to be a great success, raising over £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Hosted by Ian Surtees MBA FIoD, Vertas Group’s Chief Executive Officer, the event welcomed 56 golfers from 10 local and national businesses. Teams of four players competed for a range of fantastic prizes generously donated by local companies.
Prizes for the raffle included a Lavazza Coffee machine, Molton Brown gift set and Hotel Chocolat chocolates. In addition, players also had the chance to win the coveted trophy, a bottle of champagne, and a selection of golf goodies.
Special prizes were also awarded for the nearest pin, longest drive, and even a wooden spoon for the worst tee off!
This year’s competition followed the format of previous years, with teams teeing off from different holes across the course. Players were treated to some great views and challenging holes throughout the course.
