Facilities management (FM) company Vertas Group was proud to support the arrival of HRH, The Princess Royal, at Gull Wing Bridge in Lowestoft.

Thousands of residents in Lowestoft made history on Saturday 7th September, as they walked, wheeled, and drove across the town’s new, world-class Gull Wing Bridge for the first time.

(Image: SCC)On Tuesday 19th November Her Royal Highness (HRH) The Princess Royal visited Lowestoft to officially open the Gull Wing Bridge. During her visit, The Princess Royal attended a reception and exhibition at the Riverside office, where she met with the bridge’s contractors and designers.

The Vertas Group FM team ensured the visit went smoothly, from handling security clearance to creating a pristine environment for HRH.

Matt Woor, Communications and Public Affairs Manager at Suffolk County Council said: “All of the team at Riverside were absolutely phenomenal. We simply couldn’t have delivered the visit without them. They were amazing!”

This multi-million-pound bridge, built on behalf of Suffolk County Council, is a significant advancement for Lowestoft. It will benefit the town, its businesses, and its residents in the immediate and long-term.

The bridge will address longstanding issues with traffic congestion and act as a catalyst for economic growth. It will attract new investment and businesses and position Lowestoft as a dynamic, forward-looking commercial centre and community.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Vertas team for helping to make this important and historic day for Lowestoft a success.
