Creating positive outcomes for the communities we serve is an important part of how Vertas delivers social value. Last week, colleagues from our Cleaning team volunteered with the Dora Brown charity to help transform the home of a local family in need.
The Dora Brown charity works with families facing challenging circumstances, providing practical support that helps create safe, welcoming homes where families can thrive. Through partnerships with volunteers and local organisations, the charity delivers life-changing interventions that make a lasting difference.
When Vertas colleagues arrived to support one of the charity’s latest projects, they quickly discovered the scale of the task ahead. Working alongside Dora Brown volunteers, the team spent the day clearing, cleaning, and restoring the property, helping to create a clean, safe environment for the family.
The impact of the transformation was immediate, with the charity praising the team’s compassion, commitment, and willingness to help.
Emily Cotton, Head of Volunteers at Dora Brown, said: “I wanted to say the biggest thank you for all of your hard work, compassion and kindness. You made such a difference. The transformation, especially in the kitchen, has received an incredible response on social media. We rely on our volunteers, the absolute heart and soul of what we do, and no effort goes unappreciated.”
Projects like this demonstrate the value of businesses and charities working together to support local communities. By contributing time, skills and practical support, organisations can help charities extend their reach and deliver meaningful change where it is needed most.
Vertas is proud to have supported the Dora Brown charity and looks forward to working together on future community initiatives that continue to create positive outcomes for local families.
