COVID-19: Vertas Group Limited’s Safety Commitment

At Vertas Group Limited we always put health, safety, and wellness first. Our ability to ‘make the difference’ safely is the golden thread that runs through all our operations, and this has been accentuated recently through our commendation by RoSPA. This priority hasn’t shifted during and in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

As a business the Vertas Group has reacted and adapted to COVID-19 and have closely followed Government guidelines to ensure not only are we prepared for safe and seamless working, but that our clients whose businesses are returning to the workplace have the trust in us to deliver their facilities management requirements whilst demonstrating various crucial safety measures.

It is clear that reopening businesses will not be a quick and straightforward process. However, the Government has published a recovery strategy that aims to act as a roadmap to help us return to normal life, with safe ‘COVID secure’ workplaces at its core.

The Government has developed practical actions for businesses in the UK to take on 5 main steps to working safely. We are proud to confirm that the Vertas Group has complied with the Government’s guidelines on managing the risk of COVID-19. The 5 steps that the Vertas Group have undertaken to ensure everyone’s safety in the workplace are as follows:

  1. Carrying out a COVID-19 risk assessment – you can view our COVID-19 risk assessment here
  2. Developing cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures
  3. Help people to work from home
  4. Maintain 2m social distancing, where possible
  5. Where people cannot be 2m apart, manage transmission risk

Vertas Group Chief Executive Officer, Ian Surtees, has signed the Government’s certificate to acknowledge that Vertas has delivered on all these 5 steps. You can view the certificate here.

Kelly Fellowes, Vertas Group HSQEC&G Associate Director has said:

“As we navigate through this unprecedented period, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people, partners and clients is our number one priority. The Vertas Group has made significant steps to ensure our health and safety excellence promise does not waiver during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“We have reviewed all of our processes to ensure that we are operating in a way that complies with the Government guidelines. The situation is fast-moving, and we will continuously be reviewing our response and adapting our approach to continue to deliver our services in a safe and responsible way in line with the Government’s advice.”
