The North Norfolk District Council – Energy Case Study – Saving £32,000

Client Objectives 

North Norfolk District Council approached Vertas while searching for an energy consultant that could simplify the process of managing their energy estate. A solution was required to ease the burden on staff within the council offices checking and processing endless supplier invoices. 

Our Solution 

Vertas’ energy management team provided a streamlined solution that enabled invoices to become automated, significantly reducing costs versus paper-based systems. The team was able to improve efficiency through the implementation of electronic data interchange (EDI) billing allowing for invoices to be accurately checked and validated, with a summary of the invoices being provided every month.   

Following this, Vertas’ energy management team established new energy contracts for all of North Norfolk’s supplies. This further simplified the process for North Norfolk District Council by checking and paying for the council’s energy and then providing them with a single consolidated invoice to pay.  

Client Benefit 

Through forensic checking of North Norfolk District Council’s bills each month, Vertas’ energy management team identified areas of incorrect billing and obtained refunds leading to a saving of £32,000 for the council. By working in close partnership with the council Vertas has been able to save the council considerable time and effort.
