County Enterprise Foods (CEF) successfully maintained essential meal delivery services to vulnerable customers across Nottinghamshire despite heavy snowfall on Friday 9th January 2026, thanks to the dedication, flexibility, and teamwork of staff across the operation.
While much of the county experienced challenging conditions, only two districts were severely affected. To ensure continuity of service in these areas, County Enterprise Foods deployed three additional hired 4×4 vehicles, enabling delivery teams to safely reach some of the most isolated and vulnerable customers. As a result, all affected customers continued to receive a hot, two course meal as planned.
To prepare for further snow warnings overnight, staff members took the 4×4 vehicles home. The following morning, these vehicles were used to collect delivery drivers and administration team members from their homes, ensuring essential staff could reach the distribution unit safely and on time.
Additional support was provided by the Vertas Nottingham Landscape team, who worked swiftly to clear and grit the access route to the distribution unit and surrounding roads, ensuring safe access for staff throughout the operational day.
Donna Baines, Team Manager at County Enterprise Foods, said: “Our priority is always the wellbeing of our customers, particularly those who are vulnerable or isolated. The commitment shown by our teams during these challenging conditions was outstanding. Through careful planning, teamwork, and a real willingness to go the extra mile, we were able to continue delivering hot, nutritious meals when they were needed most.”
Thanks to the collective effort and commitment of everyone involved, County Enterprise Foods continued to deliver a vital service to customers with minimal disruption during extreme weather conditions.
