Exec Experiences Ryder Cup: A hole-in-one for CRUK fundraising

Vertas Group has launched its new social value initiative, Exec Experiences, with a Ryder Cup-style charity golf event.

Hosted by Ian Surtees, Vertas Group Limited’s Chief Executive Officer, the event saw colleagues come together at Royal Norwich Country & Golf Club for a day of golf and goodwill.

The Ryder Cup-style charity event, which took place 12th July, is the first of a series of events led by the Group’s directors aimed at raising funds for Cancer Research UK, the Group’s chosen charity.

For the ten colleagues taking part, two four-ball teams were randomly selected and led by the Group’s CEO and Chair. The format of the day was a Ryder Cup-style match play, with each competitor from opposing teams going head to head, vying for one point per match won or half point for a draw.

Throughout the day, colleagues had the opportunity to play against others from across the business, boosting collaborative connections outside of their normal day jobs.

To conclude, the event ended with a draw before a playoff to crown the Group’s CEO team the winner.

After the competition, colleagues enjoyed refreshments as they reflected on the day’s highlights. This was not only a great time for colleagues from across the Group to connect but also an opportunity to pause and think about the worthy cause the day was in aid of.

Having each raised a minimum of £100, Vertas Group is delighted to have raised a total amount of £1,615 from the event so far.

As we celebrate the success of the Group’s first fundraising Exec Experience event, we look forward to our next initiative designed to engage colleagues and support our community.
