Verse, the joint venture between Vertas, Forest Heath and St Edmundsbury Councils, has reached the finals of The Public Finance Innovation Awards 2018.

The awards, now in their second year, recognise the people, products and services that demonstrate excellence and originality within public finance and governance. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at The Brewery, London on 25 April 2018.

Judged by a panel of distinguished industry leaders, winners of the awards are acknowledged as best in class. Rob Whiteman, chief executive of The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) says the awards are “a terrific opportunity to recognise the success, immense hard work and ingenuity of the individuals and teams who are driving public finance innovation.”

Verse has been shortlisted, along with six other finalists, in the category ‘Alternative Service Delivery Model’. The winner of this category will be an outstanding individual or team that has responded to financial challenges by developing alternative models of service delivery and creating a dynamic culture, whilst effectively managing risk. They will have demonstrated innovative approaches that unlock commercial opportunities and utilise effective financial planning and leadership, that make savings and deliver outcome focused services.

Jo Lardent, Director of Verse Facilities Management Limited, commented:

“It is a fantastic achievement to be short listed for this prestigious award. It would not be possible to achieve what we have without the commitment, hard work and dedication from every member of the team and it is a credit to all that we have been recognised like this.”
