Vertas Group’s annual Charity Golf Day returned for another fantastic year, bringing colleagues, supply chain partners, and supporters together for a memorable day on the course in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Held on Wednesday 17th June at Hintlesham Golf Club, this year’s event saw 17 teams take on the 18-hole course for a day of friendly competition, networking, and fundraising. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the event raised more than £2,300 for Cancer Research UK.
Hosted by Ian Surtees, MBA, FIoD, Chief Executive Officer at Vertas Group, the day welcomed 65 golfers from 14 local and national businesses. Teams of four battled it out across the course, with plenty of prizes up for grabs.
As well as competing for the coveted Golf Day trophy, players had the chance to win a bottle of champagne and a selection of golfing goodies. The raffle also proved popular, with prizes including dinner and afternoon tea vouchers, Molton Brown gift set, and Hotel Chocolat chocolates, all kindly donated by local businesses and supporters.
Additional awards added to the fun, with prizes for nearest the pin, longest drive, and even a wooden spoon for the day’s worst tee off!
Following the popular format of previous years, teams teed off from different holes around the course, making the most of Hintlesham’s scenic views, challenging fairways and great atmosphere throughout the day.
We are incredibly grateful to this year’s sponsors, Bidfood, McCain Foods, Barnes Construction, and SEH French, whose support helped make the event possible and contributed to another successful fundraising total for our chosen charity.
Thank you to everyone who took part, donated prizes, sponsored the event, and helped behind the scenes.
